The star of Togo Island is the white-tailed deer.  We have been on the Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) program on the property since 1993.  This program is administrated by the Wildlife Departments of Mississippi and Louisiana.

Under the DMAP program, detailed and complete harvest records have been kept for more than 25 years for every deer taken on the property. This gives Togo Island the ability to use actual harvest data to continue improving the quality of deer that populate the Togo Island property. Employing a significantly more intensive herd management program over the last 12 years that is focused on age structure and trophy quality, Togo Island has cultivated a herd unmatched in the area.
